From 16th to 18th October 2019, a delegation from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of La Serena (Chile) visited CIMNE. During their stay, the visitors attended several informal and technical meetings with CIMNE researchers to create opportunities for meaningful collaboration between both entities.

The main focus of the visit was the formalization of a collaboration agreement between the University of La Serena and CIMNE through which the Aula FIULS-CIMNE was created. This new jointlab, under the direction of Prof. Jaime Campbell, will be located at the Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad La Serena (Chile) and will be part of the Aulas CIMNE Network and the International Association of Aulas CIMNE (AIAC).

Prof. Eugenio Oñate on behalf of CIMNE signed the agreement document, which had been previously signed by Prof. Nibaldo Avilés, Rector of the Universidad de La Serena.
